Photographer's Note

Roadside waterfall spotted when taking a curve on the SS26, from Couremayeur to Aosta.
Located near a village called Pre Saint Didier (map: 45.7706, 6.979).
Climbed on a short trail, to take this breathtaking view, but pic. is missing the roar of the falling water...

Hello Ike,
The vertical format usefully gives the image depth, emphasising the height of the falls. I like the contrast between the silvery rushing torrent and the surrounding greenery in this nicely lit image.

I wish we had more rain so we can have waterfalls, but even the famous Yosemite's Merced river is almost dry. Nice capture of this roadside waterfalls with good lighting and dof with nice details. Well done, tfs.

The trees and the rocks are framing well the waterfall. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the waterfall. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

interesting how the pine trees are very close of the stream in the higher area. beautiful this vertical framing catching many details of this cascade.

You've expressed the scale of this fall well, Ike, and though we can't hear it, we can certainly imagine the sound! The fast shutter freezes the movement well, giving us, I think, a better sense of the power of the falls than a longer exposure would have. Good bright greens provide it a nice setting as well. TFS!

the roar from the falling water is perhaps impossible to hear from a photo but i can almost hear it when i see this dramatically shot. I like your chosen view, it looks like you are standing in the water. Sharp and clear shot with good colors,Tfs!

Good Morning Ike,

Yes, the noise would add to the overall impression, but there is no doubting how spectacular the scene is! With your upward view, you have emphasised its height, whilst the cascading water impresses upon us its dynamic fall.
I do prefer to see water that is cascading and splashing, like this, rather than those that are taken with a slow shutter speed..

the image is very luminous and has a few magnificent colors.
I like the vertical framing that emphasizes the beauty of the waterfall, with its white foam in the middle of the green tones of an exuberant vegetation. An excellent work.

Difficult choice here Ike, I'm not sure which vantage point I like more of this particular waterfall, both of your shots are appealing. I do like the closer view and tighter framing though on this one, I can almost feel the mist and hear the roar of it cascading down the mountainside. Great composition and well presented. Mother Nature is certainly beautiful!

J'adore les chutes et ta photo est magnifique. Il me semble entendre le bruit de l'eau.
L'exposition est à point ce qui donne la réalité de l'eau qui coule. Les rochers et la végétation qui bordent la chute sont des plus intéressants et la bonne gestion de l'éclairage donne de superbes couleurs.

This looks like a lovely waterfall and an excellent place to stop for a little rest. Your composition is very good. I love the striations of the layered rock and that lovely spray of blossoms on the right. Also impressive is the power of water, i can feel the water droplets suspended in the air.

Hi Ike,
I was searching after NO 1 and 2. Now I've discovered this, No2, one. IMO almost the same quality as N1, but I still prefer No 1. I'm missing the bridge here. On the other side I like to see the wider part of the fall in its full beauty. Combination of this with No 1 would be almost perfect. Well done. Greetings, Miro
