Photographer’s Note

Between fine May and the first days of July, the plateau of Castelluccio is witness of an event of particular importance, the Closing. For various weeks the monotonia chromatic of the pasture, it comes broken from a mosaic of colors, with variations of tones that go from the ocher yellow to the red one. Even if "the Bloomed" festivity of falls back in second Sunday of June, does not exist a precise day in order to admire this charming show. Every year all is entrusted the climatic course of the season. In this period there are a lot of species of flowers in the Large Pian and the Lost Pian, walking along the paths can meet: genzianelle, narcissuses, violette, poppies, ranuncoli, asphodels, viola Eugeniae, alfalfas, acetoselle and other.
Place to 1452 meters on the sea level Castelluccio is the highest inhabited place of the Umbria. Place on the top of a hill that separates the Great Plan from tight the Lost Plan is a delicious small village with and scoscese narrow lanes and the houses leaned the une to the others, nearly to repair itself from the great cold of winter. The Plan is famous beyond that for its splendid closing, also for the cultivation of the lenticchia, plant anniversary that blooms between May and August, pertaining to the family of the leguminose.

Hi Silvio,
You captured something that looks like brush strokes. The different flower layers create a very interesting visual effect that gives a nice relief and motion. The colours are harmonious and soothing to the eye and the lonely hay bale in the corner provides a sens of scale to the landscape. Nice shot indeed.
