Triponzo
The village of Triponzo is an ancient castle dating back to centuries. XIII with imposing fortifications, built on the confluence of the rivers Nera and Corno, on a stone bench-porous limestone, deeply incised by water at an altitude of meters. 420 s. l. m..
His attitude castle hill, with the upper tower and the tower defense and down the village, inhabited by two closed doors, has been largely altered by the passage of the highway Valnerina and modern buildings that have arisen along its route, the entire village was severely damaged by the earthquake of 1997.
Opposite the village is a small group of farm buildings, now reduced to a state of ruin, where it differs from some architectural features typical of Norcia, this is easily explained because the castle was under the dominion of Norcia.
Before entering the country encountered a large rock cut in Roman times to get the road, as recalled by an inscription on the wall, curated by the construction period, just ahead of the country is another stretch of road, completely excavated in the rock, called Balza cut, perhaps pre-Roman times.
Near the town are also known as the baths "Bathrooms Triponzo", known since Roman times and used to sec. XX, thanks to some sulfur springs that flow from the hollow of an ancient volcano.

Buongiorno Silvio

Ciao e buona domenica

Hello Silvio,
A fine portrait of this attractive village; the close framing works very well indeed and the lighting is most appealing. The massive castle towering above the houses makes an excellent focal point. A superbly presented image with great colours and clarity.

Bonjour Silvio

Hi Silvio
Amazing how the houses are clinging to the hillside. I guess today one would probably declared that it was rather impossible to construct houses here. I like how you also have included some of the road in the right part. Very nice work:) TFS.
Best regards, Erling
