Photographer's Note
Church of St. Agatha
The complex of Sant'Agata, consisting of the monastery and the church, located on the same street, within the archaeological area of Spoleto. Are near the Arch of Monterone, the Arch of Drusus, the Roman House, Domus under the Town Hall and the Temple of Sant'Ansano.
The construction of the monastery began in 1395 by order of Benedictine nuns, and used the houses of the Ravens family, inherited from a sister. The adjacent Church of St. Agatha, one of the oldest in the city, was built on part of the scene of the Roman Theatre. Of its original structure remained only a few examples. Well preserved only the front porch antisante, three arches with columns decorated with capitals of the eleventh century. Remain fragmentary pieces of interior decoration of an important cycle of frescoes dating from the thirteenth century, it seems that, at the end of the fifteenth century, there has also had a hand painter Luca Signorelli.
The monastery was enlarged in the sixteenth century: some old structures were demolished, while the cloister was superimposed on octagonal pillars in brick. From 1870 to 1954 the building was used as a prison. Today it houses the National Archaeological Museum.

View from a veranda on town's houses, and the variable light collected, on the skew angel POV, made a nice photo, Silvio.
Good idea taking from under the wooden roof, gave also extra depth to the whole.
Buona serata,

Due grandi diagonali ed uno spaccato splendido.
Una immersione totale nell'ambiente attraverso il naturale percorso.
Realismo e ambiente storico.
Una ottima presentazione.

Ciao Silvio,
Excellent use of diminishing linear perspective & vanaishing point here with good sharpness & nice repetition of the support columns. Excellent shadow detail & a soft diffused light. The individual rectangles at left nicely frame the bg buildings at right. Tfs!
