Photographer’s Note

Alley of the Basilica (in truth the rests roman are of a little temple). For me it is one of the more fascinating places of the ancient Spoleto, rich of spontaneous building solutions, external scales and arches rampanti, all in a fascinating to be chased of lights and shadows. The medieval walls burned from the time rise over the massive rests of the ancient constructions roman and of it they represent the continuity in the time, to testimony that Spoleto is remained important town also in the centuries oxen.

Hello Silvio,
A very attractive composition of this lovely architecture nicely framed by the archway and lamp. The stony path invites us to explore further. Good lighting to bring out the tones and textures to best advantage.

nice architecture shot with good textures on the walls and a well chosen POV. I like the vertical format and your framing. I also like your composition with the shadowy parts in the foreground changing into sunlit parts in the background. Well done.

devi aver provato a sistemare la prospettiva, forse, quindi è venuta un po' "schiacciata"...però funziona, perchè come dice Donato, c'è un bel gioco di incastri, di illusioni ottiche date da porte sopra e sotto, scale, luci e ombre....funziona sì...purtroppo ho finito le faccine per stasera, te ne lascio una così :-)

Boh...non so se e' proprio tutto cosi' storto e stravolto o se hai pasticciato un po' troppo con la correzione prospettica,sta di fatto che sembra la foto di un manifesto stampato su un lenzuolo con 10 mani che lo tirano da tutte le parti..buon Venerdi',Luciano

a beautiful shot of the wonderful old corner,
it is very artistic composition of stone arches and steps.
warm colors of stones are nice, and the blue street seen through arches is well contrasted,
a little mysterious perspective of space is tasteful.

Excellent depth in the composition!
I notice the fine details in the old walls, and the repeated arches have a fine effect...

Missed this one too. Shame on me! Excellent textural details in the heavily corrugated stone surfaces, with good sharpness & shadow detail. The stairs at left link the 2 halves of the image. Have a nice weekend!
