Himalayan cedar of the monumental cemetery of Perugia
The huge cedar circumference of 4.88 m located in the monumental cemetery of Perugia is completely surrounded by funerary chapels and to make somehow the idea of its size I had to lie down on the ground, it is certainly not the first time that the I do it for a photo but given the place the location was not a good omen, fortunately I got up ....

Complimenti e grazie!
Tanti saluti e buona notte,

Well taken with an interesting angle to give an impressive result for this high tree, light is also well managed.

Your exertions and foreboding were well worth the result you obtained. The stark upwards point of view accentuated the height of this splendid specimen. The funeral monuments make an interesting and unusual frame. Very good light management.

Hello Silvio - Your note made me smile! What a super shot, the tree looks so solid and permanent as it reaches skyward. It must be the guardian of dead souls. I like the atmosphere here.

Following your series about trees Silvio, that one is remarkable, original pov, I've observed such Himalayan trees in Kashmir and especially in Shimla, I can observe that they're perfectly adaptated to mediterrannean climate, good evening

Excellent idea to lie down and capture this beautiful tree from the low POV. I love the streaks of bright light coming through the branches and leaves of this impressive tree. I agree it is not a great place to lie down :-). Fantastic shot, thanks for sharing.

Great notes and something special about this shot with viewer gets to concentrate on this amazing gigantic tree, the intricate trunk and the branches system. It fits in both with position and colour. When you look at the picture it makes you want to contemplate nature aged beauty with delicate textures and the matured colors. I really love your low pov, distortion effect and detail between nature and man-made for comparison seen so close from totally diff perspective. Great vision and well thought out and tfs. Congrats.

A lovely old cedar tree protected from storm winds on 2 sides by the high rampart walls of the bg fort. Good sharpness and shadow detail with excellent tonal range and nice minimalist colour. Have a nice weekend!
