Photographer's Note
Castel San Felice
It is an ancient river terrace prehistoric habitat was an Umbrian and then a Roman colony. Early sixth century, at the time of Theodoric, he formed a hermitage, a monastic cell and agriculture, around an oratory: San Felice. Curtis was Lombard, included in Castaldato Bridge. In the twelfth century the agricultural colony gathered on the height, forming Castel San Felice, a fief of Duke Conrad of Urslingen; in 1198, step in Spoleto. In 1194 was erected the church of San Felice.
According to tradition, Mauro came here, his son Felix and his nurse, at the time of Theodoric. He was one of the three hundred Syrian immigrants in Italy. S. Mauro and S. Felice, people of prayer and penance, they retreated to a cave along the Black. Known by the people for their holiness, Mauro did this to the presence of a pestilential dragon, that led to the slaughter of men. Mauro and Happy prayed to the Lord and the dragon was killed by a huge boulder fell on his head.
Felice lived in purity and spoke with the Angels. Also worked miracles including the raising of an only son of his widowed mother. Died before his father together with the nurse 16.06.535, after being warned by the angels. Mauro, left alone, he placed their bodies in a chapel that later became a church dedicated to San Felice. Even the country (which dates back to 530), took his name. Mauro founded a Benedictine monastery, he was abbot, the saint died in 555 and was buried in the same oratory. Of course, the dragon, and only a symbol. This is the deliverance from paganism and sin, but also from the swamps and ignorance. The original chapel, with the graves of the three, is now the crypt of the church. Around this was built the monastery monastic cell, an official from Farfa and then from San Pietro in Valle, which is the rough cloister. In the twelfth century priory was dependent on Sassovivo. It remains, however, a superb monument, the church.

Hello Silvio,
The stone archway makes a pleasant frame for the scene beyond. I like very much the subdued light and misty atmosphere, which bring a particular mood to the composition. Excellent rendering of the tones and textures in the brickwork.

Ciao Silvio,

Saluti

Hi Silvio,
An interesting and radable note and a very good picture or rather two pictures. You have a very pleasant landscape view inside the natural frame of the gate. Very soft and harmonic colours.
Kind regards

Dear Silvio,
this is very nicely composed photo. The misty landscape peeking through the arch adds a touch of mistery to the place and creates a bit of medieval mood in the photo. The colors are settled and subtle, the sparse light highlights the spirit. Small patch of blue sky creates lovely contrast and livens up the image.
Well done and have a nice Sunday!
