Caso

Castle Caso is still surrounded by walls and the urban, largely restored, has major architectural elements of high quality. Interesting is the dual gateway with covered area recently restored, the hinge between the old medieval town and the more modern buildings sprang up around the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta. This Romanesque church contains a cycle of frescoes with scenes of the Virgin painted in 1595 by the painter Peter Caesar, as well as four seventeenth-century paintings of the side altars. Inside the castle is the ancient oratory of San Giovanni Battista, transformed into the cellar of the parish house, which preserves important frescoes of the fifteenth century. At the end of the country, near the present cemetery, is the Shrine of Our Lady of Grace shrine built as an extension of country of the fifteenth century with the appearance of miraculous to a child of the place, Lady on horseback. The interior is decorated with frescoes dating ex-voto for the most part in the sixteenth century by John Spain and his school. Not far from the village, on the road to Gavelli, is the Romanesque church of Santa Cristina country. The interior of this church is completely covered with frescoes dating back to the votes from ex-XIV-XVI centuries and depicting the patron saints and biblical scenes, according to the simple popular language.

non posso che elogiare questa foto già vista in anteprima per il felice incontro tra il colore abbagliante della neve, la delicatezza della facciata delle case e la vegetazione dai colori bruni che portano ad una composizione elegante e molto equilibrata.

Ciao Silvio,

This is an exquisitely composed shot, both across the frame and in depth; the ancient town follows a fine diagonal across the frame, flanked by the parallel bushes and the distant mountains. In terms of depth, there are three distinct layers, from the f/g to the b/g. This really is a text bbok shot.
The wintery garb adds much to the drama and the interest in this place.

il nome è simile al paese di mia madre, anche le case arroccate sono simili.
Un antico castello trasformato in borgo, sicuramente più piacevole in estate che in inverno, anche se adesso il contrasto con la neve è fotograficamente migliore.

Snow puts a whole new complexion on the landscape. The point of view is excellent giving us a good overview over this charming hilltop village. I like very much the framing offered by the snowy branches and the pleasant range of soft colours.

What a beautiful place, and in such conditions it looks absolutely magical. We had the first dusting of snow here on the South Coast a couple of days ago: it looks as though you've had more. I guess this isn't so far from where you live. I love the near-monochrome palette that is lifted by the oranges of the dead leaves in the foreground. Good work.
