The last of this serie
The Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi, a masterpiece of Gothic Umbria, is one of the most photographed monuments in my region, I tried to offer it to original shots. The lower church from 1230 stores and houses the mortal remains of the saint seraphic. Ordered by Pope Gregory IX which specialis ecclesia, was honored by the Pope himself the title of Caput et Mater Order of Minors and simultaneously assigned in perpetuity to the friars.
In the complex history that has marked the evolution of the Order, the church (and the adjacent Sacred Convent) was always guarded by the so-called "brothers of the community," the group that went up as a result of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual.
Since 1796 has the dignity of the Papal Basilica. In 2000, together with other Franciscan sites in the district, the basilica has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Buongiorno Silvio, My TE neighbour this morning.
Fine taken the view on the basilica nd magnificent multi-tones pavement in front.
Fine outlines and great view of the entrance arch, and also the cylindrical pillars "hold"the walls. Beautiful archi. elements on picture.

molte le geometrie che questa architettura ci mostra, grazie alla tua composizione ed al taglio scelto.
Il cielo gioca una parte fondamentale, creando drammaticità su tutta l'immagine.

This one of the best of the serie . Excellent POV and framing . The light is splendid and the clouds , too . Nevertheless ,may be a little too much PP for the sky : it seems to be a little to much neat . I must say that i'm making some tries about that at present , and it is not so easy to make the good choice .

Ohh this is the famous Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi!Excellent presentation with the stairs to creates depth and perspective in the image and lead-in the eye to its main entrance.I like the excellent light and colour management as the clarity of the image.

You have used a fine viewpoint, the pavement working like steps to guide towards the basilica. The adjacent arches, with their diminishing columns, serve a similar purpose.
Excellent details to show the scale of the architecture of this beautiful building.
