Oca is situated just to the west of the Piazza del Campo. Traditionally, its residents made dyes.
Oca's symbol is a crowned goose wearing around its neck a blue ribbon marked with the cross of Savoy. Its colours are green and white, with red trim.
Oca is one of only four nobile (noble) contrade; it earned its title for its people's bravery during many battles fought by the former Sienese Republic.
The most recent palio win for Oca was in the July 2, 2013 race, with jockey Giovanni Atzeni riding Guess. This image was taken a few days later - contrada Celebrates!

A great sight of this old historic city with such a charming rustic feel. I like your tight composition here which accentuates the details and character of the architecture. I also like the visual rhythm created by the repeated green shutters and how the flags, together with the clotheslines, the electric cables and the washing make for a joyful mess. Very well seen and taken.

I was there myself a couple of months ago, and noticed all the flags. Now I know what all the fuss was about! I like the frame-filling street view, concentrating on a shuttered row of houses. And of course the ceremonial flags. Is this Via della Galluzza by any chance?

Seems that the windows and the flags have the same colour here! I like the details of this old street and the way you framed it. It's a good composition!
