The inside of the dome in the Duomo in Siena. This is an incredible cathedral. Siena and Florence were rivals in the Middle Ages, and Siena had this cool cathedral that was started/built in the early 1200s. So Florence decided they had to keep up with the Joneses, and started their own in 1296. Both cathedrals are amazing both from the outside and the inside; more photos to come. Another shot of the Siena dome, with some of the surrounding architecture, is here.

Great dome shot here - I'm surprised to see the warping and lack of symmetry in the dome itself, though.
Regardless, the color is wonderful here, and there is a nice optical effect with the shading in the individual squares. Nice light management with the brighter center circle.

As mentioned, teh warping is noticable here, but it gives great character to the whole scene (I was going to say wobblines, but warping sounds better). It makes a very unsual sigh, as normally these domes have such perfect symmety. Really nicely seen!
All the best
