Photographer's Note

Yes, it's typical...no, it's nothing special. Just a Tuscan landscape taken from just outside the ramparts of San Gimignano looking north (I think). But for me, it's one of the best souvenirs I brought back home. I can still breath the air when looking at this because it is so crisp and clear!:D The landscape looks like patchwork quiltmy grandma used to make:D

No sky here... I just zoomed in to isolate a part of the panorama that I found more interesting. San Gimignano is a wonderful medieval town with a lot of history and a lot of character. It is situated on top of a hill so anytime you are near the ramparts, you can have a nice look over the tuscany landscape. The "Historic Centre of San Gimignano" is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
About the photo. What I found hard was that the whole scene was covered with a sort of haze that you can still see in the upper layer. The farthest you look, the more haze you got. I found out that later in the evening, the haze was less visible and it was easier to have a good clear shot at the landscape.
have a nice day,
Marc
Again, I was at f/5,6...I can't say why...bad choice because there was plenty of light to go with a smaller aperture even at 300mm...
