Fašade of the Cattedrale San-Michele in Foro, Lucca.
Built from the 11th century up to the 14th century, in the intersection of Roman street Decumano / grid in the center of the old-town.
It doe's not have the typical biblical figures rather a unique Romanesque ornated and curved columns, each one different in shape.
In the WS, a larger inclusive view of the Piazza and Cattedrale.
Lucca's Giacomo Puccini was a choir-boy at San-Michele.
Location on piazza: 43.8432, 10.5024

A finely detailed capture of this beautifully decorated fašade. I like the way the layers of colonnades rise up the frame culminating in the statue.

The tight frame is putting the cathedral in evidence. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the architecture of the cathedral San-Michele in Foro. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Uno stile pisano o Pisa in stile lucchese.
Una facciata ricca di decorazioni e fregi.
La giornata plumbea da tono a questa opera imponente.
La bella toscana con il suo passato storico che rivive nelle immagini .

Ciao caro Ike
A nice tight composition of the wonderful duomo of Lucca. The details really are fascinating. One could stare and stare at this lovely creation and find even more details every time. Good light management, the conditions look a little difficult. And good sharpness too.
TFS and I wish you a beautiful Saturday

Wonderful facade of Lucca Duomo. When I was there (in 1979) it was covered and "chiuso per restauro" . They did the job well and now it looks fantastic.

Impressive decoration work has been done, with all ornaments and even statues to catch our attention!
Tight framing helps focusing on mentioned details, in this impressive piece of early architecture...

Wonderful construction, from a great low perspective, giving magnificence to the whole palace. Congratulations!

I find the weather; a solid sky is serving for your interests. You have also decided to concentrate on the upper portion of the fašade where the most delicious detail is concentrated, as you have already described in your note. The variety of columns is truly the highlight of this fašade. Low POV is giving dignity to the church. The church stands tall before us is very impressive. Nice and tight framing reminds me that it is you who take this particular view of the church. I enjoy following your trip, hopefully as much as you have enjoyed the journey. Thank you Ike for this intriguing image.
With my very best regards,
Have a great week ahead,
P.S: I thank you once again for the WS image. I feel better today.

bel colpo, la facciata Ŕ sempre bella da osservare, nel ws la tua foto Ŕ simile alla mia, un ottimo lavoro per un bel luogo.
Michele era anche il nome di mio padre.

You're capturing well this Cathedral by a good composiyion and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the noble cathedral's fašade in medieval times with symmetry and Romanesque ornament. It's also impressive in the green statue as saint on cathedral's top.
