Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
To combat the cold and wet weather, my husband and I have been contemplating holidays. With that in mind, I revisted my archive of photographs taken in Italy on a most memorable holiday ... it was when our son got married.
This is the beautifil Milano di Firenze, an old water mill on the banks of the Arno, near Florence. It has been turned into a lovely hotel, maintaining many of the original features.
To sit on the patio in the evening, a glass of wine in hand, watching the herons and the grebes fishing along the weir, is a memory that remains very vivid. Now that can certainly dispel the misery of a cold, wet January.
Thanks for stopping by.
I hope you have a lovely Sunday, Bev :-)

Ciao Beverley,
Ciao e buona domenica
Romano

Hello Beverly
Looking out of my window, seeing only grey and fog, this lovely picture with a warm golden summer light is most welcome to me.
I can imagine that, as you described in your note, that sitting on that patio with a good glass of wine must be very pleasant.
Lovely framing with the hotel to the right, thus giving us the chance to discover the beautiful scenery around it.
have a good sunday

Hi Bev
yep! Summer seems a long way away at the moment, but this is a glorious shot to banish those winter blues. Love the warm tones and light in this beautifully composed image. Thoughts of wine and watching just seem to go so well with this marvelous view. Exquisite!
Enjoy your Sunday - Brian.

Also wet in Toscana's June, Beverly, but a small flooded water as part of the rutine life there...
Placed the great mansion off-center in pic., added good part to nature on scene, lovely green hills - so notable for this region.
calm ambiance well conveyed through.
Enjoy a nice sunday afternoon,
Ike

Hello Bev,
I think you have shown us pictures of this place before but this is a different view and one which certainly appeals to me as I sit here with the rain battering against the window on a cold January day!
Your composition is excellent and very pleasing, the golden ochre mill and its buildings placed perfectly in the frame, nicely underlined by a row of large rocks. Gorgeous vibrant colours, perfect light and exposure and all beneath a glorious summery sky.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Bonjour Beverly,
Une Florence que l'on connait peu mais tout aussi beau que celui de la ville .Une maison superbement placé dans le nid de la rivière sous une lumière toute italienne.
Amicalement

Hello Beverley ,
I remeùmber very well a previous post of you from this POV . Looking at it in your gallery , I think this one is even better , especially for the presence of the tree on the right in the FG .

Your note made me smile Bev. While you shiver in the cold and contemplate sunny climes, I bake in the heat and long for some respite to the 36C+ that we have had the past 10 days! I fancy a skiing trip (although I cannot ski!) This looks lovely and I can understand the pull of the location. The greenery does it for me and the water. A tempting prospect beautifully presented. Warm regards Rosemary

Hi Bev,
A very beautiful and pleasant view here. The colours of the buildings are in a nice harmony with those of the background forests. A well balanced composition with the foreground tree that provides depth.
Kind regards
Gunnar

Gidday Bev
I can see why you would want to rekindle the memories of warmer times. And Italy in summer is a perfect way to do it. You have captured the esence of Tuscany here so well, yet provided us with a POV I have not seen before. Superb colours and pin-sharpness. Ahh, you're making me homesick for Bella Italia.
Hope you're keeping warm
Lisa
