Photographer’s Note
Crop of the view across the Arno River taken from near Uffuzi Museum. This was a wider view but cropped to make the dome off-centre. Unfortunately here for just an afternoon and the next morning, but virtually everywhere you look here is a photographic opportunity.
Located in the province of Tuscany (Central Italy). The city is situated on the Arno in a fertile plain at the foot of the Fiesole hills, whence came its first inhabitants (about 200 B.C.). In 82 B.C. Sulla destroyed it because it supported the democratic party at Rome. In 59 B.C. it was rebuilt by Cæsar at a short distance from its original site. It served then as a military post and commanded the ford of the Arno. Soon afterwards it became a flourishing municipium. Wikipedia

Hi, Murray,
Good presentation of Florance. I never been there. Fine shot from good POV. TFS!

Hi Murray,
I like this image a lot, it tells me a lot about Florence.
Very nicely composed, good balance. I like the hazy hot background, it is what the eye sees on days like this, good contrast ratio.
Nice one.

A good photo Murray - you should have stayed longer in Florence than just 1 day - there is so much to see, do and photograph!
A good composition on a not very good, probably warm day. A good mix of the river front and the dome.
cheers
Ian
