Photographer’s Note
This bird was sitting on a log in the middle of the Arno river which flows through the heart of Florence. The white colour stood out from the slow and low river at that time. WS has the pre-cropped version. Photos of birds, mainly native ones in Australia is my prime interest in photography and gives the incentive for telephoto lens.

G'Day Murray
I noticed somehow you are currently in a bird mood... nice focus on that one with speed in the low rang given the length, some whites look a little bit too white on my screen
have a nice day JY

Hi Murray,
The branch is helping on framing the bird. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the heron. The intensity of the light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Murray,
Indeed a very good cropping, the way you show this bird is very fine. The long piece of wood becomes a natural part of your composition.
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hello Murray,
Nice composition with that bird. I recommend that you use faster shutter speeds to get sharper images at longer focal length. Slight correction of chromatic aberration may also be needed.
