Photographer’s Note

This is one of the many view we can find while going from Siena to Firenze in the Tuscany region.

Located in central Italy, the territory of Tuscany is characterized by mountains in the East and north, among them the Alpi Apuane, rich of the renowned white marble, and wide hilly areas throughout the central part, covered with olive plantations, vineyards and sunflowers, while the plain territories along the coast, Versilia and Maremma, once unhealthy and marshy, were reclaimed in the early 20th century and offer now landscapes of great natural beauty. The very large plain called Valdarno, going from Florence to the mouth of the Arno river.

A sensational image of the Tuscan Valley, and framed perfectly. What lovely rolling hills! I love this image. I am especially interested in your allusion to Valdarno, because the Balze Rocks are in this area.

Your frame is very attractive since its thumbnail. I like green tones all over frame and grainy feeling. Typical, old Italian architecture, trees and ridges are completes your beautiful scene. Congratulations.

Hola Christian,

Me gusta mucho este paisaje. Tiene bastante parecido a las escenas de la pelicula Gladiator. Los pinos son muy elegantes y diferentes de los pinos que tenemos en Canada. Realmente me gustan mucho mas los que veo en la foto. La foto esta bien compuesta. Tiene un sujeto interesante con buen balance de colores y luz. Otra cosa interesante son las pacas de paja, son cuadradas y no redondas. Gracias por compartir Christian.

Ciao Christian, un posto dove andare a vivere! E' una cartolina sulla toscana, avrei forse lavorato un po' sui livelli per esaltare il colore. L'unico appunto è la cornice, così verdina non mi piace, spegne la foto.

Joli point de vue dominant.
L'avant plan est bien garni par la maison entourée de cyprès.
Je pense qu'un fin encadrement blanc permet de mieux faire ressortir l'environnement vert de la campagne vallonée.

Trés trés belle image, un endroit ou je veut bien être, prés des vignes, les oliviers et les tournesols un joli tout qui rapelle le sud...
un tout beau cadrage de la maison avec une vue incroyable sur la vallée, trés jolie

Classic tuscan countryside, I love the simple beauty, and also the tight crop, the green frame does not kill the shot, but gives it a painful blow to the kneecaps.

Christian,
a classic view of the tuscan landscape. The tight crop with the compression effect of the zoom gives a nice impression of the tight framing. Speaking of framing, the green frame is to heavy and doesn't contribute to the presetation of the otherwise great image.

This is yet another example of a postcard type of photo.
Tuscanny is one of my favourite regions in the world where I have very good friends.
