Ricostruita con il Casseretto durante la dominazione perugina del XIV secolo, la Torre del Cassero, con il suo campanile a vela nella quale è collocata una grossa campana, caratterizza il profilo della città. Per una scala di legno recenetemente rinnovata si può salire alla sua sommità (35 m.) per avere una visione suggestiva sullo scenario della Val di Chiana e della Val di Chio. I recenti scavi archeologici nell'area del Cassero hanno portato alla luce alcuni tratti di una cinta muraruia etrusca (Iv sec. A.C.) costituita da gorssi conci ed i resti di una porta urbica.

Re-built with the Casseretto during the Perugians domination of the 14th century, the Cassero Tower, with its bell-gable defines an unmistakable skyline of the town. Through a wooden staircase, recently restored, you can reach the top (up to 35 m) and have a suggestive view of the old town and of the valleys of Val di Chiana e Val di Chio. Recent archeological excavations in the Cassero area unearthed evidence of an etruscan city (4th c.B.C.), made up of large stones, and the remains of a city gate.
