Photographer’s Note

This is my 5th posting of the border crossing path between Müstair in Switzerland and Mals / Malles in Italy.

Glurns / Glorenza is the smallest city in South Tyrol with about 900 inhabitants. It has had the city rights since 1309. During the Battle of Calven 1499 it was completely destroied. With the reconstruction by emperor Maximilan I it got its city walls which are still completely preserved as you can see in the pic.

Here you can see atypical street inside the city walls.

Guten Morgen, Günther!
Ich habe schon davon gehört und es sieht so schön toll aus, wie beschrieben. Ein interessantes Foto und ein wunderschöner Ort. Der Bildaufbau ist ungewöhnlich - but it works ;-) Die Stadtmauer - einfach toll! Diese Wanderung ist wirklich lohnenswert!

Ciao Guenther. Altro POV azzeccatissimo per un paesaggio che inserirei in una favola. Il borgo, i prati gli alberi. Composizione, come al solito. ottima.

Splendid panorama of this little town. These city walls with towers are fantastic. Good idea to have parking place for cars outside the walls. Nice mediaeval look.
