Schloss Runkelstein (or Castel Roncolo) lies a few kilometres north of Bolzano in northern Italy. It was built in 1237 and has many well preserved frescoes from the 1300s. This view shows an old window in the castle wall, looking out to a medieval tower known as Torre Druso. Layers of paint reflect the long history of the castle. At least three layers are seen here: the red at the bottom, the patterned red and white in the middle and the pale green layer at the top.

L'idée est excellente, les couleurs, le sujet rappellent les tableaux de la renaissance italienne.
Très belle photo!

Hello Vincent - The loveliness of this shot is only apparent once it is opened up from the TN and one can appreciate both the composition and very fine light management. The typical Italian landscape in itself is attractive but framed so superbly by the window and interior walls the context and beauty of the scene is enhanced. A really special shot. Congratulations. Wow!! what a shot, looks like a photo frame on the wall with a beautiful landscape photo in it or perhaps a theater with a performance on the stage. The 'not so nice' wall is in perfect contrast with the pristine scenery behind. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Vincent ,
A superb capture of the view through the window . This picture is especially excellent because both the fg (textured and painted old wall with table and beches) and the Bg (it looks like a painting) are beautiful .
well done .
