Photographer's Note
The rain dissappears between the mountains, while the sun is coming back in St Jacob village in the narrow Ahrntal valley.
Close to the Italian-Austrian border it is Italy's
most Northern area.

Bonjour Jan,

Vriendelijke groetjes,
Robert

Very attractive constructions as well!
Eye-catching photograph, with excellent sharpness, exposure, chosen pov, colors, horizontal format, black & white borders, contrasts and composition! Not even the grey sky bothers me in this picture!
TFS - congrats,

The weather looks lame Jan
very lame indeed, but those Dutch photographers can take what conditions are offered and use it to the best of their ability.
The mood is overcast but it's dark enough to contrast well with the green grass. Composition is nice and the chapel stands out superbly. The sweeping hillside form the left really pleases my eye.

Hello Jan
This area looks great...I like how you've framed the village, the curves and the contrast between the vivid green grass and the greyish color tones in BG.

Hello Jan,
This picture is a good illustration of the idea that a clear blue sky is not necessary to take a nice photo.
I like this dark sky and its contrast with the green hill in the foreground.
The composition is good with the church at the right place.

Bravo.

Hi Jan,
As it get close the border, it feel more like Austrian and Swiss landscape than Italian. Regardless, Europe are very close together so it can be difficult to differentiate the style of houses and landscape.
I like the melancholic mood here with the rain still hoovering between the mountain, Great details and nice color with very little light started to come through. I think it can be lighten just a tiny bit though.

Hello Jan ,
A wonderful composition , with amazing light conditions . The contrast of the lightened buildings with the dark BG is fantastic . But there is something that is curious : why does the grass seem to be still in the shade ? The efeffect of a PP ?
Anyway , i like this picture . And the WS of Waylim is interesting , too.

Hi Jan
I can completely understand why you wanted to photograph this beautiful scenery.
its gorgeous how the white buildings show up so brightly against the green and greys.
theh composition is also smart, having them spread about in opposite corners of the frames.
nice work here
cheers

Hi Jan
I don't know why, but this post makes me think of a landscape for railways toys! Good colors, and nice spotted houses even under a grey sky.

Hi Jan
What a gorgeous scene after rain, splendid shot with fantastic light and delicious colors. The conrast is realy excellent and enables the eye to focus on the
bright lighted white houses. The misty bg adds a certain atmosphere and mood to the shot. Awesome capture

Hi Jan,
I like the contrast that has the grey sky of the bottom of the valley, while it is raining, and the luminosity of this beautiful village and its church in foreground, already illuminated by the Sun, as well as the vivid green tones of the landscape.
It is a beautiful postcard on this charming place, excellently captured by means of a good framing.
A great work.
Best regards,
Josep

Hi Jan!
Technical not the best of yours but I understand the circumstances with this poor light.....The composition is great, everything is at the perfect position and I like how the mountains dissappear in the clouds in the far distance.
Good work!!!

Hello Jan,
I like this kind of landscape view in bad weather time. I think it provides originality and special mood versus sunny landscape.
I find this shot successful with especially a strong composition with the village in foreground and the valley going far in background and disapearing in the rain.
Yves.
