Photographer's Note
Near the town of Siusi (Seis in German) is the ruin of Schloss Salegg (Saleggo in Italian). This medieval castle sits at the foot of the Schlern massif (Sciliar in Italian), which can be seen in the background. This is the western edge of the Dolomites, where German speakers are more common than Italian speakers.
I used Photoshop to lighten the foreground and darken the cloud highlights.

Ciao Vincent,
Splendid work with good contrast and detail. I love you pov. Your PhotoShop work helped bring out the qualities of your capture. I use it a good deal in the same way you do. Like being in a darkroom dodging and burning. It was good enough for Ansile Adams it's good enough for us.

I like the composition here, with the crumbling man-made ruins overshadowed by natures imposing spire.. makes me think of how our greatest edifices cannot beat out natures creations.
