Photographer's Note

''The current building is the latest in a series of buildings over the centuries in the same place. A fire in 1850 destroyed the parish church, which have been preserved only the foundations and the Gothic apse. On the ashes of the old building a church was built in the Romanesque Revival style. There are splendid frescoes on the vault, the work of Georg Mader (1824-1881), a member of the group of Nazarenes. The so-called "Crucifix Pacher" on the right front of the baptismal font is actually the work of an artist of the sixteenth century, inspired by the master of South Tyrol.

Embedded in the wall along the driveway of the cemetery, is a fine show a kind of genealogical survey of the noble families of Brunico, with many coats of arms and a host of sweet angels.

Despite the late erection of the parish, a sign of the struggle between the Church and the temporal power for hegemony in the valley, the construction of the rectory, which was launched in order to keep the priests in the city, dating back to 1369'''
