Bolzano-Bozen is the peaceful capital of Alto Adige/Sued Tirol: the majority of it's inhabitants are of german mother-tongue. The municipal organization is great: I remember particularily a car garage elctronically controlled, with red and green lights that show you where to turn to find the car place.
In this picture there is another nice idea: bikes for rent, at a political price, 1 euro for 6 hours and 2 euros for the whole day. Bikes are in good conditions and there is plenty of cycle-roads. It has been a pleasure for us to let the car in the parking and ride across the town, along the river and up to the castle with the bikes.
Note for the other mayors in Italy: it's not that difficoult, isn't it?
Nobody has marked this note useful

Your hotograph has a good point of view and composition. But i think yuo have overdone your sharpnes adjustment. The lines now are jumbled and cluttered specially on the bikes.

You made it.
All over the earth, cities suffocated by the car.
They drive 5miles to the newly opened shopping centers far away.
No neighbour shops nor stores anymore.
No chat with the old woman who kept the shop for decades.
More than that, the structure of cities themselves endangered.
Most of them were designed and developed during the days when there were no autos.
Driving cars, people tend to forget this urban structure.
Italy may be a little bit lucky with so many historical legacies attracting people.
In Japan, and perhaps all over the earth, there are so may cities, towns, and villages without people in sight increasing.
