Photographer’s Note

Sorge in una zona collinare interna, posta a 619 metri sopra il livello del mare.
Centro di struttura medioevale, Calascibetta offre una ricca produzione di grano, uva, olivi e legumi.
Notevolmente avviato è l'allevamento di bovini e ovini i cui prodotti vengono esposti nell'annuale Fiera del Bestiame che si tiene nei mesi di agosto e settembre.
Il nome Calascibetta deriva dall'arabo Qalat-sciabat che significa "il castello sulla vetta" a sottolineare la particolare posizione geografica del paese.
Il primo borgo sorse nel 1602 ad opera del conte Ruggero D'Altavilla che ivi fece erigere un castello fortificato che usò come base militare per assediare la vicina Enna. Nel 1535 la città divenne demaniale e tale rimase sino all'abolizione della feudalità.

It rises in an inside hilly zone, sets to 619 meters above the level of the sea.
Center of structure medieval, Calascibetta offers a rich production of wheat, grape, oil and vegetables. Notably on its way it is the breeding of cattle and ovine whose produced are exposed in the annual Fair of the Livestock that is held in the months of August and September.
The name Calascibetta derives from the Arabic Qalat-sciabat that means "the castle on the peak" to underline the particular geographical position of the country.
The first suburb rose in 1602 to work of the count Roger Di Altavilla that ivi made to erect a castle strengthened that it used as military base to besiege the near Enna.
In 1535 the city became demaniale and it so remained so up to the abolition of the feudalism.

I've already said here I love those villages we find all over Europe - and in Italy as well!
Your picture is magnificent, with excellent sharpness, exposure, depth of field and colors! The high pov was very good and truly privileged! The composition, excluding the sky, was skillfully done and the visual results are quite eye-catching!

Che perle...grazie Mauro ci portate a conoscenza di luoghi davvero speciali, la Sicilia è talmente ricca di storia nei suoi tempi travagliati che spesso, durante una visita all'isola, non si considerano le zone interne, ne tantomeno i piccoli borghi....Meravigliosa cattura panoramica del paese e nota interesante.

scusami ma sinceramente non capisco come possa essermi sfuggito questo splendido panorama di Calascibetta, le case senza colore gli conferiscono un aspetto unico e molto particolare, a suo modo attraente.
Molto bello il verde della pineta in basso a fare da cornice. Un caro abbraccio.
