Zoom su Castellammare del Golfo, a photo from Trapani, Sicily

Photographer's Note

Una zoomata su Castellammare del Golfo (provincia di Trapani).
Sulla sinistra è possibile vedere nei dettagli il Castello di Città.

L'edificio fortificato in origine, venne edificato su di uno sperone di roccia a ridosso del mare e collegato alla terraferma per mezzo di un ponte levatoio ligneo, il quale in epoca imprecisata si riedificò in muratura e strasformato in permanente.

Il ponte esiste ancora ai giorni nostri e scavalca il fossato ricavato dal taglio della roccia.

Il corpo di fabbrica possiede una base scarpata, esistente già nel 1578, secondo quanto è possibile osservare dall'acquerello dello Spannocchi.

Dal medesimo disegno si osserva anche il muro di cinta dell'abitato posto a ridosso del castello.

La possente bastionatura della fortezza risulta ulteriormente rinforzata da un torrione circolare posto a settentrione, forse edificato durante la ristrutturazione del 1537 (…«seu turrigluni»…).

Invece gli ambienti abitativi si dislocano nella porzione meridionale del castello e si caratterizzano, all'esterno, per la presenza di grandi balconi con mensole, certamente frutto di successivi rifacimenti, giacché essi sono inesistenti nell'acquerello dello Spannocchi.

Fantastic view from a high POV of this fortified place converted into homes.
The small marina on the foreground makes the sight extra attractive, as well as the beautiful blue colour of the Mediterranean partially enclosing this peninsula.
Nice also with the palm trees appearing from the backside.
Certainly a very picturesque place in Sicily.

una vera chicca questo paesino, il mare è uno spettacolo e la tua inquadratura e il tuo POV sono più che ottimi...solo che non è una zoomata...hai usato una focale di appena 64 mm ;)
Colori, luce e sharp sono eccellenti, vedo che posti barca liberi ce ne sono acora molti...forse la stagiona ancora non è partita a pieno....dimenticavo l'hai scattata a maggio, forse il periodo migliore per una vacanza!!!

Hello Francesco - Your POV has been well chose to capture the architectural delights of this jumble of buildings. I love the way that years ago there was no such thing as rigid town planning and building just seemed to sprout from the earth! Bel close up del castello. Forse e' la colpa del zoom, ma sembra ad avere mancato un po definizione. Bei colori e dettagli dell'edifice.

Wow .... that great picture of this fantastic place, I remember from when visiting the island, but I made a more open plan, I acknowledge that this zoom highlights this fantastic corner of old buildings, with the sea view as foreground and background.
