Noto is a true charming old town where I felt the spirit of Sicily. In 2002 Noto and its church were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Cattedrale di Noto or La Chiesa Madre di San Nicolò is a Roman Catholic cathedral. Its construction, in the style of the Sicilian Baroque, began in the early 18th century and was completed in 1776. It is dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Myra, and has been the cathedral of the Diocese of Noto since the diocese's establishment in 1844.
The cathedral collapsed in 1996 as a result of unremedied structural weakening caused by an earthquake in 1990, to which injudicious building alterations in the 1950s may have contributed. It has since been rebuilt, and was reopened in 2007.

Interesting point of view on this attractive church with the rising wall making a good lead-line. The golden tones of the deface sit well against the pastel blue sky. Very good technical presentation.

wonderfully enticing composition and capture of this beautiful cathedral. A real sense of its setting and gloriously warm tones in this superbly detailed and presented shot. Looks amazing!

Good use of the wall to lead up to the church for a rather unusual but successful POV.

great angle to show the beauty of the cathedral. The soft light is very warm and attractive, the upward perspective is really good.
Have a great week!

Ciao e buona notte

Imposing view here my friend!
the Cathedral hardly even looks real! perhaps its just the look i guess.
but obviously its the POV that wins out.
and also the color, one that we don't see very often.
excellent shot from Sicily

A good upward pov on the cathedral using the stairs as a nice lead in line. Excellent sharpness and superb colour and saturation. The yellow red colour of the building contrasts well against the blue grey sky to give a pleasing warm cold color contrast. Tfs!
