This is a genuine Sicilian street scene in Noto.
The current town, rebuilt after the earthquake on the left bank of River Asinaro, was planned on a grid system by Giovanni Battista Landolina. This new city occupied a position nearer to the Ionian Sea. The presence of architects like Rosario Gagliardi, Francesco Sortino and others, made the new Noto a masterpiece of Sicilian Baroque, dubbed the "Stone Garden" by Cesare Brandi and is currently listed among UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. The new structures are characterized by a soft tufa stone, which under sunlight assumes a typical honey tonality. Parts of the cathedral suddenly collapsed in 1996, a great loss to Sicilian Baroque.

An interesting street captured just after the rain has passed by. I like the atmosphere and the glistening lights on the road. A fine mix of different architecture very nicely presented.

interesting notes to accompany this street scene. It takes on a different meaning when you know the story of this place. The light and your POV make it all the more fascinating and beautiful. Well done!
Have a great weekend - B.

Une scène de la vie quotidienne dans cette belle rue qui semble difficilement s'éveiller tôt le matin,Sans fioritures et avec le temps gris on s'attarde plus aux mouvements des participants.

A very pleasant street scene with a very good light on the street and the houses. A good glimpse of daily life.

I like the way that this street is illuminated giving the buildings a lovely colour. There is some interesting detail in this photo such as the man with the umbrella - well done and TFS.
Kind Regards, Ann

I wasn't sure if the weather was good or bad, but I see the man in a blue shirt is carrying an umbrella, so it must have been raining, or he is expecting rain. The view is very nice though, and I suppose that this street will look quite exciting at night-time with all the lights shining.

grande omaggio alla terra sicula, un bello scorcio di vita, tra antiche facciate e moderni addobbi.
Il selciato bagnato riflette luci e colori creando un ottimo effetto visivo.

hello Daniel, Beautiful street view. Pleasant scene of every day life. Nice street decorations.
The photo is too big when I look at it in beta. I can't see the whole composition and also I do not see the note when I write the critique. Better is 1200 pixels, then it is the whole big photo on the screen.
Have a nice weekend MAlgo

pretty street scene and well captured from good POV. The colors have been nicely balanced despite of the lack of the sun. Good perspective and depth and successful composition. I like presence of few people in the photo - discreet but adding some life.
Thanks for sharing

Great street with these splendid palatial buildings, gray day does not detract from the warmth charm stone facades.
Enjoy the weekend.

Beautiful sense of perspective and pleasantly composed from good pov. It's like an invitation into the alleyway with specks of bright colour guides in and hold the focus strongly without distracting from an appreciation of the old buildings and its architectural detail. A delightful old town scene in low light with loads of good colours and contrast. Very nice shot, Well done
