Photographer’s Note

Photo taken in the little seaport of Sferracavallo, in the outskirt of Palermo.

Lined with Mounts Billiemi and Pizzo Santa Margherita and stretching into the Tyrrenian Sea, Sferracavallo - with its mild climate, its blue sea and the thick Mediterranean vegetation - is a relaxing and a tranquil seaside resort located a few kilometres from Palermo. Its name seems to derive from the horses’ habit to run free through the place before it was reclaimed by the king Vittorio Amedeo.
Once a small village of fishermen, Sferracavallo is by now part of the urban area and lives off tourism and commerce, also thanks to a good supply of hotels and accommodation facilities.

Very nice nightshot. Despite a very huge aperture, there is a good DOF. The exposition time is very adequate, however I would get rid of some of the foreground level.

Great night shot! I like that sky and the light you got. Then the composition is also very good with the boats in the foreground and the city in the background with those mountains behind.The effect of the lights is very nice also!
