Picture taken in the cloister of the Benedictine Monastery in Monreale.
The four sides of the square cloister (each 47 m long) are entirely surrounded by the portico, with an interrupted series of 228 small paired columns bearing capitals and pointed arches.
In a corner of the cloister there is another mini square cloister including this column-shaped fountain.
For a visual comprehension of the all architecture of this place you can look at this picture posted by Moustique. The little cloister is in the right-top corner of the big cloister.

Nice architectural shot of such a great monument, yet I think one shot is not enough & need 10 more shots to understand all abt this art piece, my love for architecture makes me wish to be able to visit it some day.I prefered a more wide-angel shot to show the whole of the building better or more...for the explanation of the cloister & mini cloister has left me completely confused :)
Doesn't help me imagine it in my head..

ciao Matteo il titolo e' davvero azzeccato , c'e'una bella serie di geometrie diverse , ma tu sei riuscito a rimanerne padrone, ottima anche l'esposizione e il gioco di luci
