Photographer’s Note
The theater of Taormina is the second of the classic theaters of Sicily as far as size, after the one of Siracusa. It is placed in the highest part of Taormina under the Tauro mount that gives name to the town.
Although the origin of the theater is hellenistic, because therefore they demonstrate some inscriptions to it recorded in the stone remembering to Hierón II, its present appearance corresponds with the modifications and extensions realised in Roman imperial times, mainly what it has to do with the structure of the scene. The cavea or launching slips of the theater of Taormina has a diameter of 109 M.s constructed in brick, are divided in 9 cúneos, just as the Greek theater of Siracusa.
The semicircular orchestra is slightly more loss than the scene with two lateral exits for the choir, on these lodged the scene with two floors, three exits for actors in first and decorated with columnatas and a porch superior. The walls of the bottom conserve niches whose decoration consisted of sculptures, as well as marble columns.
During the decade of the 90 the theater was recovered and at the present time summer concerts of classic music, classic festivales and theater representations are offered that demonstrate the spectacular acoustics.

Gracias.
Manuel.

Hola Elena,
excellent composition, in my opinion! The distant mountain balances the wide heavy right side of the theatre very well. Axcellent lighting, beautiful natural colours! Very lovely distant mountains in the haze. Absolutely nice blue sky with a hint of clouds in it. All this creates a very elevated mood! Some people dressed in red add a very nice "element" to the picture :)
best wishes,
Elena

Gran trabajo.
