Photographer’s Note

Taormina is a small town on the east coast of the island of Sicily, Italy, in the Province of Messina, about midway between Messina and Catania. Taormina has been a very popular tourist destination, it has popular beaches and is one of the most beautiful town we found during our cruise trip last September.
This picture was taken on the beach after we disembarked from the ship about 9am, the morning was cloudy.

I hope you enjoyed such a beautiful place. You captured the beach and the surroundings very well here, showing colors not too strong, and a quiet relaxing atmosphera of the empty sand.

Salut Emile!
Belle prise de vue sous un ciel nuageux et excellente perspective. Une plage pour les bateaux, pas de marina la-bas, il ne reste plus beaucoup de place pour les touristes. Bonne composition en trois plans et belle vue sur la ville. Bel éclairage et bon rendu des couleurs.

Boats in the beach without people almost not possible, but I see nobody.
The black silhouette of the mountains against the nice light cloudy sky, care for a excellent picture.

Heureuse de revoir ce merveilleux endroit ou je me trouvais là en juillet 96, un mois d'été ou il avait trop de monde, j'aime mieux voir cette image de la plage pleuplée de petites barques avec une vue intéressante et belles sur l'arriére, trés jolie composition

It's difficult to believe this was 9am and not a soul to see. There are so many boats and all landed haphazardly, as if some disaster has just occurred. Despite the clouds we can see by the shadows there was plenty of light. Good choice of POV so we can see up the beach where all the lines of sunbeds(?) make pleasing patterns.

hay una gran definición en esta foto, por lo que te dice Enrique creo que te ha enseñado algún pequeño truco de Photoshop.
El resultado es muy agradable, porque además, vemos un bello paisaje bajo una luz perfecta.
La composición está bien estructurada y es muy elegante y atractiva.

PS: Charo me ha copiado tu mensaje, en el que le comentas tu deseo de vernos en la Rep. Dominicana, y debes saber que nosotros también tenemos muchas ganas de ir allí y veros.
De momento no es posible, pero todo llegará, y tened por seguro que en cuanto nos sea posible, será el primer viaje que haremos.
Y después tendremos que ir a Extremadura también a ver a Charo y Jose.

Hola Emile,
Imagino que tendrá que ser muy, muy bella, para poderes decir que es la mas bonita que has visto en ese crucero con un itinerario de sueño. Por lo que muestras, no lo dudo - una bahía de aguas muy calmas, una gran playa, montañas verdes y marrones, un tejido urbano muy lindo visto desde lejos, como lo muestras. Me gusta mucho la compo y esa luz algo verde y amarilla, pero muchísimo linda.

Linda paisagem e muito bem registrada. Composição e cores maravilhosas...os barcos coloridos espalhados na areia fizeram um bonito primeiro plano. As montanhas ao fundo e o céu especial completaram o cenário.

Hola Emile, I can see that the place has a great potential for graphic compositions in particular the forest of poles seen after these boats. This is a beautiful view from a distance to show the whole place, the fishing mood filling well the FG. There's a nice zig-zag line in the composition that makes the reading easy. Starting with the diagonal of the boats from left corner to right, than along the beach to the left again, following the buildings to right and the mountains in the end. Un abrazo,

Sin duda de que la composición es bien connotada, con los coloridos botes en el 1er. plano y el "dramático" conjunto de nubes al fondo, acompañada de la montaña y los diversos edificios.

Hay un gran equilibrio en todos los elementos, bellas tonalidades y un buen manejo de la iluminación.

I love the drama of sunlight and shaow here and the grweat detail throughout, it show especially well in the clouds. There seems to be a bit of a greenish cast though so IU played with is a bit. Let me lnow what you think.

Bonsoir, mon ami Emile,
C'est curieux comme une plage peut avoir un air de vacances avec tous ces bateaux qui reposent tranquillement sur le sable.
De plus, ces alignements de parasols repliés forment de curieuses formes géométriques. Et puis, il reste tout le reste du paysage à admirer : la ville et la montagne, sans oublier ce très beau ciel.
Cette composition s'apparente à une peinture.

Lots going on in this photo. I like the number of boats seen here and then all the houses in the BG. What is that behind the boats? Anyway, great colourful boats. Superb scenic shot.
