"faraglioni" of Lipari Photo

Photographer’s Note

A sight of the southern part of the island of Lipari with a blue sea, cliffs and " faraglioni".
A " faraglione" is a piton of rocks drawn up towards the sky, it corresponds at lava solidified in a chimney of volcano, a hard stone which has resite at the erosion whereas the remainder of the volcano is broken down with times…
From this pov one profits of a superb sight on the Gran crater of Vulcano, one sees it in background… and one will more closely see it on my next posted photo…

Ces îles volcaniques sont magnifiques . Belle image , qui nous ammène des rochers du premier plan , vers le fabuleux cratère . La seule chose qui me gêne un peu est la couleur du ciel .

Elle est superbe cette vue, je me demand si tu te déplace en parachutter pour fair se si belle vue de haut, , ces failais, le contraste avec le bleu profond, ce cratère que l'on voit à merveille, de toute beauté.

Beautiful place, with some really dramatic scenery! Those rocks jutting up from the ocean are really amazing, and when you combine them with the sail boats and the volcano in the background then you have something special. Well done!

Superbe point de vue ! J'aime beaucoup l'effet d'altitude que tu as su conserver dans cette image. Ce qui semble être le cratère d'un volcan au loin, ferme parfaitement l'image. Très belle vu !

Fantastic perspective view from this fine POV to show such a superb clarity and sharp detail using f/10. I find the light is so pleasant in the exposure condition, bringing out the white boats against the blue water. A fine composition showing the range of mountains.

This is one part of Sicily that I have not seen, but, having seen your beautiful photograph, I want very much to see it. I know the faraglioni of Capri, but I did not know of a similar rocky outcropping in Sicily. The boats are very good for perspective. I was sailing off the coast of Southern Italy on August 5 when you took this photo.
