Pozzillo Lake Photo

Photographer’s Note

Strongly stimulated by the beautiful photos posted by Maurizio (mauro61) Sunday I went to Agira, and along the road that leads to Regalbuto I found myself in front of Lake Pozzillo, in whose waters it reflected Etna, what spectacular view!
Lake Pozzillo is the largest artificial lake of Sicily, carried out by a reinforced concrete dam in the river Salso (tributary of Simeto) built near Regalbuto, is at the center of the island, in the province of Enna and near Erei and Nebrodi mountains.
The lake receives the waters of collecting Salso those of the streams that descend from the surrounding hills. All around grew a forest largely Eucaliptus shaft.

Ciao Caro Giorgio,

Gradisco molto la bella equilibrata di questa composizione in differenti plani ben delimitati. Bello effto di simetria anche con questi incredibile riflessi nel acqua. POV ben seclato and immagine ricca in detagli ben captati.

Very nice capture with a little bit of land on the side leading over to this lovely lake and the green hills around with the lonely villages ... what a wonderful place to live and grow up! Carissimo Giorgio,
non perdo tempo a dilungarmi in tiritere di circostanza, questa e` una fotografia che si commenta da sola. Una profondita` di campo semplicemente eccezionale e un susseguirsi di strati paesaggistici da sogno. Veduta da sballo, bravissimo! incredibile composizione, splendida... se non fosse per le riflessioni sembrerebbe quasi quasi che il maestoso Etna prvenisse da un'altra foto, un'apparizione... grande effetto, complimenti!

Ciao Giorgio,anche se ti fai desiderare un po' e' proprio il caso di dire...poche ma buone! E a quanto vedo e' gia' un plebisicito di voti. Fortunato ad avere la possibilita' di avere sott'occhio incantevoli panorami come questi ma soprattutto bravo a saperli riprodurre cosi' fedelmente...e so per esperienza quanto sia difficile riuscire a evidenziare cosi' bene le montagne innevate con una zona scusa sotto,ho fatto molta esperienza quest'inverno e pure in Marocco. it's very starange because the light mist at the bottom of the volcano gives to the landscape a bluish conlour,the same than the sky,and the volcano seems to emerge from nowhere!I like this effect very much!The blue is even in the water,and the band of green mountains gives a superb contrast,as the white snow!splendid!

il posto e' fantastico...ce ne siamo resi conto di persona (tanto fantastico che avevo pronta la foto del primo anno su una inquadratura simile e la sto cambiando per non fare il bis con quello che e' accaduto con Francesco.. :)))
Ottima l'inquadratura con i vari campi della composizione ben definiti e il fantastico gigante che sembra sospeso in aria.

Hi Giorgio,

your POV makes and the weather has made one thing possible: that the peak of the Etna covered with snow looks like flying over the whole landscape. The reflections of the mountain and the landscape on the water gives the scene a strong feeling of harmony and tranquility.

wow !époustouflant ce paysage !les couleurs sont superbes mais je trouve assez impressionnant avec ces différents plans,comme le sommet enneigé semble "planer" au dessus du lac tel un immense nuage blanc(désolée pour mon imagination...)

Una foto incredibile! La montagna sembra sospesa nel cielo. E forse vagante per sempre nell'eterno azzurro. D'altra parte anche il paesello pare irreale e magico...EHI! hello Giorgio,
ir looks as if the snow-capped summit of the mountain is floating on thin air, without any support :) I like a lot the various cool tones, the result feels very fresh and spring-like. what is the smoke in several places on the mountain slope? in any case, the smoke adds a nice accent, very fitting in the volcanoe photo.

I was never in Italy and never on Sicily, this is wonderful.
The contrast between the snowy peak of the Etna and the blue lake is so wonderful.
Lovely reflection in water, wonderful with the snowy top.
Light was beautiful here, so warm and nice and the colours are outstanding.

concordo con chi ha definito questa stupenda immagine dell'Etna simile abbastanza analoga a quella del grande Fuji.
Spettacolare la sovrapposizione dei piani, che dal margine del lago guidano l'occhio fino al cielo.
Misteriose e ammalianti quelle colonne di fumo sulla collina. Atmosfera ieratica e non priva di magia. Bravo!

An heavenly view... The snowed peak with with golden glows seems to be floating on the air because of the darker and hazy slopes. There is a very fine harmony between the 3 levels (lake, green hill and mountain). A memorable view, very attractive.

Hai "visto" bene questo paesaggio.
La sagoma della vetta dell'Etna è riproposta con esattezza dalla collinetta sulla sinistra (anch'essa, evidentemente, di origine vulcanica) ed ulteriormente riprodotta, capovolta e ridotta ad una indistinta macchia bianca, nel laghetto.

Accidenti che vista! Da fare invidia al Fujihama.
Lago, collina ed Etna formano tre piani nettamente distinti che rendono l'immagine molto profonda e dinamica. La luce sull'Etna e il riflesso sull'acqua poi sono una vera meraviglia che rendono molto particolare quet'immagine.
