The path to Hades Photo

Photographer’s Note

Hello,

The trip to Sardegna was almost over, we where driving all day along the west coast to reach the Capo Testa Rocks. That day was rainy and cloudy, many beautifull things I have seen along the shore but there was no light to shoot landscapes. I hate the time when I am not able to shoot, especially when there is a lot of new fantastic scenarios to create... Late evening when the sun was gone suddenly the sky started to burn... and that was my reward.

Title is “The path to Hades” because that is how I imagine the ancient river Styx that the dead people must cross to reach the kingdom of the dead.

I've never paid much attention or cared much for photo titles, however, this title really completes the photograph for me. Without it, i don't think the red sky and dark clouds would be so intense. Interesting the processing that one's own mind does to a photograph...

Hi Wojciech,
Very good shot with very dramatic atmosphere. I like how you put the rock on first plan and how is the sea all around with your long exposition choice.
Colors of the sky is unreal but bring all the atmosphere to the picture.

GREAT PICTURES.....THE EFFECT YOU GOT WITH THE EXPOSURE OF THE WATER IT ALMOST LOOKS AS IF IT WAS SMOKE.....I LOVE IT, GREAT COLORS!!!!!

Some times you go over the line with your editing :) but this one is perfect! The sky is very good and the centered orange is outstanding. It really boosts the atmosphere of the shot. The foreground has a lot of dynamic and works very well here. Love it!

This is great photo, almost like a painting. This photo reminds me, that you have to move to compose good photo - just like Wojtek did. I suspect, that he moved so long, that the bright red clouds were excatly in the middle of a bay.
Very goog technic: long time, high f are exactly what whas needed here.
It must have been almost night when you shot this photo - very good intuition!

absolutely beautiful photo, Wojciech, I would even say - epic. the white water flowing towards the fire red sunset and framed by darkness creates a fascinating drama, and I find your title very apt. superb quality, my compliments on this excellent work.
