Photographer’s Note
One of my favorite aspects of travel (though certainly not outranking food and people) is taking in some inspiring architecture. There is nothing like standing at the base of the Sagrada Familia or the Coliseum and just staring endlessly. Modern architecture can also be quite impressive. However, at some point in my stay in Italy, surrounded by the grand, ancient masterpieces of that country, I realized that the true soul of Italy and its architecture was in its neighborhoods.
Here we have a very typical door...well for this particular town, at least. How much does this say about the home it denies entry to? Or to the town in which the home is located? Or even to the nation which is comprised not only of its famous cities, but also to a collection of towns and villages such as this one?
Doors can either be the pathway to entry or the barrier which denies entry. However their surface alone can say so much.

Good capture. I like that you have positioned yourself in a way that allowed you to capture light passing through the keyhole.

Hi Joseph,
good shot full of nice details. Good quality overall and nice colours, very naturals and well contrasted.
The key hole and the its light through is the main centre for this compo..simple, effective but it tells a story!
Good job!!
Take care
Igor
