Photographer's Note

Piazza Cavour is the historic city center of Vercelli and its most beautiful square. In the middle of the square a statue of its eponym Camillo Benso, conte di Cavour, a leading figure in the movement towards Italian unification and first prime minister of Italy. The statue is by Ercole Villa (1864). In the background the octogonal Torre dell'Angelo from the 14th century.
