Another shot of Isola Bella, this time on a sunny day. On the far left you can discern Isola dei Pescatori.

The Borromean Islands (It. Isole Borromee) are a group of three small islands and two islets in the Italian part of Lago Maggiore, located in the western arm of the lake, between Verbania to the north and Stresa to the south. Together totalling just 50 acres (20 hectares) in area, they are a major local tourist attraction for their picturesque setting.

Their name derives from the Borromeo family, which started acquiring them in the early 16th century (Isola Madre) and still owns the majority of them (Isola Madre, Bella, San Giovanni) today.

Hello Klaudio,
it's amazing how the warm sweet sunlight has changed the scenery. The beauty and elegance that distinguish this place are still there but the mood is completely different, the melancholy and the revery of the past are gone, the delight of the present moment prevails. I love the perspective, the clarity and the rich natural colours that fade in the distance. The lamp post balances the composition, fills the space in an elegant way and adds to our perception of the character of this place. You've captured the quality of the light superbly. I visited this place many years back, but that time without digital camera. Beutuful part of the world. Fabulous image. Awesome delicate colors, a fine deep DOF choice and and magnificent composition with the Island in the middle and the white light post in the FG. Perfect photo.
