Photographer’s Note
This shot shows a particular zone of Ivrea. Here the Dora River, after have been passed through a gorge, starts flowing towards the open countryside. But some of its water is taken away to be used to irrigate the rice-field of Piedmont. This water is convoyed by a barrier of cement that you can see in the left side of the river. In this picture that barrier is actually covered by a water fall, due to the huge flow coming from the mountains in this period. Some scholars suppose that this project was supervised by Leonardo Da Vinci. The smaller course in the foreground is a canoe-path that was the main site of the Canoe World Championships last year.

Hi Gabriele,
A nicely composed shot that gives a sense of river, city and landscape all at once. The multiple levels in the river are very strange and interesting, especially due to the random trees and bushes in the middle. Perhaps the red fence on the side is a little too saturated/distracting? But other than that good sharpness and clarity too!
Cheers,
Jordan
