Photographer’s Note

This is the most beautiful area of the recently restorated building of Venaria Reale.
This "little Versailles" is one of the dozens buildings of Savoia family, italian royal family until the end of world war II.
Every time I visit those kind of historical buildings, their endless rooms, their luxury, their extraordinary gardens, I can't stop thinking about the incredible differences between lifestyle of poor people and aristocratic ones in the past.

This is a beautiful building. The character and elegance are well felt in this image. Your low point of view is very effective to show us an interesting perspective of the floor and walls. Nice use of dual tones as well to enhance the mood of the building atmosphere. Thanks Gio.

Hi Giorgio,
Beautiful architecture enhanced by this light, the woman who looks out the window to the left brings a lot to the composition.
By cons, I do not find very mixed picture, I tried to do a workshop to improve it, and the prospects (but it is a matter of taste).

Wow, this looks like a wonderful place to visit. A like the B&W and the way you placed all the people in thr frame, except for the guy on the right. Also, the sharpness is simply superb. Well done.

Un colpo d'occhio notevole, bello ed efficace, su questo interno regale. Ottimo senso della profondità e dello spazio, buona resa dei dettagli. ho visto il ws e mi piace di più, non solo per il raddrizzamento delle linee ma anche perchè ha più contrasto e risulta più incisivo. Ottimo lavoro.

Hello Giorgio,

The black and white works well here with this type of light and such nice patterns in the floor!!
I have to agree with the workshop, though the blacks in the persons are a bit too strong there. But the guy on the edge to the right, he really has to go :-).
But an impressive place it is!!

yes, this is a memory of liefstyle of aristocracy in past.
A superb picture with a good use of B&W and a good prospect. Il like especially the games of shade and light
wich gives a "rythm" to the image.

Interesting how everyone looks so dark while the interior is so bright. B&W was a good decision as high contrast in color would not look good. I wasn't sure about the fellow peeking from the right edge at first but I think he is OK. Regards,

This is a splendid picture and the choice of W&B is very good as our eyes are not disturbed by the colours.

ci sono stato di recente alla Venaria che da casa mia dista 30km.
Non so se lo sapevi ma è proibito scattare fotografie all'interno, se lo hai fatto consapevole di infrangere i divieti hai compiuto un atto eroico degno dell'ammirazione mia e di tanti altri dilettanti.
L'immaggine animata dai visitatori è gradevole, per uno strano effetto ottico subito mi è parsa a colori, le linee cadenti e le persone danno profondità alla galleria, di troppo il mezzo busto sulla destra.

Very impressive Giorgio !
this spacious room itself is great with all the details. But the most impressive is your handling. Excellent light, composition, Pov and sharpness. The man in the center adds a very special mood, like he doesn`t belong there, very good!
Maybe the man in the foreground should be cloned away or cropped ? (only minor detail) Very well done,Tfs !
