Arengario - Piazza Duomo Milano

The Arengario has been built in the thirties on project of the architects Portaluppi, Muzio, Magistretti and Griffini, and decorated in façade with the high reliefs of Arturo Martini. Winning of the 1937 contest, the project for the Arengario concluded the process of urbanistic renewal of the center in Milan, planned by the architect Mengoni that had engraved a monumental character to the area around the Duomo.

The Arengario has been in fact built after the demolition of the Manica Lunga of Royal Building completing the intervention of realization of the new Diaz plaza. The Commune in Milan has individualized in the Arengario the best space to prepare a true Museum of the Arts of the XX century and it is in phase restructuring today.
