Photographer’s Note
Inside the Duomo is this sculpture of St. Bartholomew (one of the 12 Apostles) by Marco d'Agrate. It was placed in the Duomo di Milano in 1562. Bartholomew was reported to have been skinned alive. So this depiction shows him with his skin draped over him like clothing.
PP: Because it was shot in low light, a noise filter was applied (Noiseware). In addition, I used a contrast adjustment, resize, frame, and USM.

Painful death. THe statue is excellent and its location superb. Good use of low light to compose the image.
The details on the body are intricate. I just wonder how long it took for someone to create during the time. Thanks Mike.

Hello Mike,
This is one of those fabulous shots from the Duomo. In Leonardo's Last Supper he is depicted as the Apostle sitting at the far left of the table, part of the trio with James the less and Andrew. I forgot that he was the saint who had been skinned alive. Did you get a chance to see the Last Supper at the Santa Maria delle Grazie? You've handled the low light situation very well. I like the details of the the procedure you applied.
Warm regards,
Bulent

A nicely detailed shot Mike. I was really surprised when I first saw it. Great color, nice tones, sharp and detailed. A nice looking shot all around. The sculpture really pops out against the darker background. Low light but it looks like it was perfect.
Good work.
John
