Via Monte Napoleone, also spelt as Via Montenapoleone, is an elegant street in Milan, Italy, famous for its ready-to-wear fashion and jewellery shops. It is the most important street of the Milan Fashion District known as the Quadrilatero della moda where many well-known fashion designers have their high-end boutiques and stores from Italian designers to all the world famous brands. The most exclusive Italian shoemakers maintain boutiques on this street.
Via Montenapoleone is also regarded as one of the most important 'streets in fashion', as Milan is recognized as one of the major fashion capitals in the world. Today, several of the world's top fashion houses have their headquarters, major offices or large emporia in the street.
The street traces the Roman city walls erected by Emperor Maximian. In 1783, a financial institution known as the Monte Camerale di Santa Teresa opened here in Palazzo Marliani, with the function of managing the public debt. In 1786 the street itself was named after the monte. The bank was closed in 1796 but re-opened in 1804, when Milan was capital of the Napoleonic Italian Republic, as the Monte Napoleone, from which the street derived its current name.
During the first part of the nineteenth century the street was almost entirely rebuilt in the Neoclassical manner with palaces inhabited by the highest of the aristocracy. Notable buildings from this period are the Palazzo Melzi di Cusano, the Palazzo Gavazzi, the Casa Carcassola, and the Palazzetta Tarverna. The much earlier Palazzo Marliani regarded as one of the finest houses to survive from the era of the Sforza, was preserved until its destruction during the Allied bombing campaign of 1943.
After World War II, Via Monte Napoleone became one of the leading streets in international fashion, somewhat equivalent to Paris' Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré, Rome's Via Condotti, London's Bond Street or Oxford Street, and Florence's Via de' Tornabuoni.

somehow the inclusion of the sports car adds just a touch more elegance to an already pretty classy scene.
You have handled the contrast in light very well.

Une très belle animation dans cette rue. L'architecture est belle sous cette lumière qui frappe en diagonale. Mais ce sont les gens qui font l'image.

lovely composition with nice framing and great pov and perspective. the people on the street make the shot lively and the colours with the soft highlights are soothing on the eyes without sacrificing the sharpness with which the details of the buildings are displayed.
Thanks for sharing and have a nice day.

I've read so much about this street in magazine articles and heard descriptions of friends who've been there. You are offering us a very interesting account of its architecture, traffic and atmosphere. The view is deep and clear, the perspective and the architectural details have a strong visual impact, the movement is vibrant and makes us feel like we 're about to follow into the frame. You balanced sunshine and shade very aptly, the contrast is smooth and natural. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

This does look like a very elegant street, the architecture of the buildings is beautiful, and the lit at this moment has illuminated them perfectly. A bustling busy scene, I guess it would cost a lot of rent to run a store around here! Great to have a Porsche proudly in the scene too, giving that feel of opulence. The look the man on the bike is giving the car is priceless.
Thanks as always

La présence des gens ajoute de la vie à la scène. La longueur de la rue donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de la façade des immeubles. L'image est claire et précise. Bonne soirée.

Perspective is a good solution to frame a view in the streets
Lights balance with shades is not simple if there is a big difference of exposure
You managed well here
