Piazza della Scala is a pedestrian central square of Milan, Italy, connected to the main square of Milan, Piazza del Duomo, by the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II passage. It is named after the renowned Teatro alla Scala opera house, which occupies the north-western side of the square; the building actually includes both the opera house and the Museo Teatrale alla Scala (La Scala Museum), dedicated to the history of La Scala and opera in general.
On the opposite side to "La Scala", to the south-east, is the facade of Palazzo Marino, Milan's city hall. Another relevant building on the square, on the north-eastern side, is the Palazzo della Banca Commerciale Italiana. The south-western side of the square has the entry to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele (behind me at this point) as well as Palazzo Beltrami.
Most of the architecture of the square is due to architect Luca Beltrami, who designed the eponymous palace, the facade of Palazzo Marino, and the Banca Commerciale Italiana building. The centre of the square is marked by the monument of Leonardo da Vinci by sculptor Pietro Magni (1872).

Even Italy has wet days, as we found out in Florence, when on holiday in June!
You have captured the mood well, it's very much, 'let's get on with it'! It doesn't look grim and is probably lifted by the lady in red.
A well chosen angle, good textural details and a natural guide via the figures.
Have a good day,

Excellently composed photo with superb color contrast, especially the green tree against bright buildings. The rainy atmosphere adds nice hue to the scene.

a shot that typifies the atmosphere of a wet day, but also captures the spirit and beauty of this Piazza perfectly and originally.
Wet and blowing a gale here at present.

Il y a quelquefois des impondérables avec lesquels il faut vivre. Comme une journée de pluie qui vient briser nos plans de visite. Il y aura belle foule à l'opéra ce jour là.

Ah, sunny Italy. Actually, it is nice to see the umbrellas in this living museum that is Italy. Did you get a chance to hear an opera performed while you were in Milan? the woman in the red sweater adds color to a drab day.
