I'll come back to the Baltics later, but just having come back from a few days on Lake Como, here's a little interlude of post-card type shots.
From the eastern arm of Lake Como flows the river Adder, through the valley where Leonardo da Vinci had a long and varied involvement, not only paining, but developing many innovative technology improvements in the area.
The bridge pictured here pre-dates his period, and features on at least one of his paintings. There a theory, that the Mona Lisa obscures the bridge in the landscape behind her, based on comparing that picutre, with other landscapes which he painted.

Hi Richard, A beautifully composed photo with the boats aching from front to back & right to left, the depth is very good & superb focus throughout, I love the reflections from the boats & the bridge & wonderfully managed light, kind regards Wilson.

This is beautiful composition. The light and shadows are brilliantly captured. The boats and bridge with their reflection are looking great. The background and architecture in right is good addition. Glad to know about its historic importance.

Une très bonne composition réalisée avec beaucoup de rigueur permet au spectateur de cette image de plonger dans le décor en longeant les bateaux pour se diriger vers le pont !
Bien vu !

Beautiful scene Richard, all peace & tranquility, apart from maybe the traffic jam on the bridge. Wonderful reflections all round and a nice, soft light. The arc of the boats make a fine composition. Regards, Roberto

Something about the quality of the light, or even with the air itself, that made this glazingly defined. Or how the row of moored boats with its light brown reddish body and its white covering sheets, leading the eye to the bridge, and the township at right. The glazed surface and the reflection just bring out the best in this composition Richard.
