In my last post I tried to be creative but the standard view of Varenna from the site of Como Lake is the most attractive.

As there a very few photos of Varenna on TE, in WS two other views.

Hi Malgorzata. Excellent capture, good sharpness and excellent separation from the BG. The telephoto view has compressed the houses into a wonderful jigsaw of colour. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Malgorzata ,
A great post card of this so well situated village . The view is so beautiful , with the coloured houses , and the green inclines of the mountain in the back ground .
The format is well chosen , too .

That place seems to be magically beautiful and your picture is splendorous because the pov was excellently chosen, the composition was extremely well elaborated, sharpness and exposure are outstanding features in it, pretty adequate to the object of this picture, colors are naturally beautiful! no tak...nic dodac nic ujac tylko podziwiac. Miejsce na zdjeciu naprawde niezwyklej urody. Przepiekna sceneria, w ktorej ciekawa architektura miesza sie z natura. Jak to mlodsi mawiaja- "odjechana fotka"!

Hi Malgorzata,
This is more than just a standard picture of Varenna, it is certainly a well composed picture. The church is well placed at the third and the big tree at the other third. The diagonals in the slope are very attractive. I like the uniform colour of all buildings here!

Superb place, superb view. An image rich in colours very well collected, the village arise in the image. I like too the good balalnce of the composition.

What a great shot of this colorful village.Great POV and I like how it is framed by the blue and green tones of the lake and the mountains.I like too this diagonal row of tall pinetrees left of the church,leading to the building in the upper corner.

I like the many colours of the houses of Varenna. They're so vivid. Also the setting of the village - between the steep forested mountain slope and the lake - is splendid.

When the standard view is a good one like this, why not?
The town is really lovely located between the steep mountain and the lake with its colourful houses, ad you managed to obtain a good resolution in spite of the distance and strong light. I like also the colours, especially the cromatic contrast between the town and the green bg. Composition and framing perfect.
(What a long journey you had in Italy...)

Absolutely beautiful scenery, the colors are just really nicely illuminated by the warm light, all is so clear and sharpe. Even the blue haze bring out the beautiful color in the hills and forest. and the composition is perfect.

Hello Malgorzata,

The special light conditions make the town stand out in an almost 3D effect, with the colourful houses on the hazy background!
A classical composition with the church tower as the natural eye-catcher, and the colour palette is very attractive...
