Photographer’s Note

There are still many places in Verona that I would like to show but at the moment I continue my travelogue. I probably come back to Verona later.
So, after visiting Giardino Giusti on Tuesday morning I left Verona and I went by train to Milan and then to Varenna. Many years ago my friend showed me photos from Varenna and Bellagio and I had it in memory that it was the place worth visiting. So finally I went there. Varenna lies on the Lake Como on little promontory and is a very picturesque town. It has a mild climate so you can admire splendid vegetation - palms, glicinias, oleanders, azaleas and so on - and Alpine peaks covered with snow at the same time. Though, I had no time to stroll on the streets of Varenna and after short walk I took the ferry and went to Bellagio.

There is often the same problem - what to do with the cars? To cut them or not. When I cut then there are critics that there is no floor. This time i have left cars.

Hi Malgorzata,
An interesting time of the year, as you say. Springtime, nearly summer, down in the valleys and still winter on top the alps. You have a very good capture here of this special state. And at least you can always say that cars often add some colours to a composition, even if they aren´t particularly beautiful. But what can you do (except clone stamp)?

You are posting wonderful Italian scenery! This is really impressive shot of the bright sunshine to show the snow-cap mountains seen through the town center. I think the cars are fine for me.

Surely worth a trip to see this place out of your route.

Czesc Malgosiu,
Troszke szkoda, ze tego backgroundu tak malutko. Kocham gory i pagorki (a mieszkam nad morzem;), wiec kazde zdjecie w ktorym one sa traktuje sentymentalnie. Takich jeszcze nie widzialem z bliska (z okna samolotu nie licze), ale moze na drugi rok...

Olá Malgorzata, including the cars usually give more context and I like that. On the other hand they can be disturbing. Not always, but in this case I might try to cut them off, so I can concentrate more on the beautiful mountains seen in the background.
I have the impression that all cars are too much identical and with pretty much the same color...
