Photographer’s Note
The Legend of the Mount Miser (Avaro) several years ago the mount belonged to a such one of Cusio, a Paleni or perhaps a Rovelli, or an other of those inhabitants of the small community mails to the top of Goes them Averara. One what is sure: that such she was a person gretta and taccagna and was known much in all goes it them, and also outside, just for its not common avarice, to the point that people had taken to call it "worse Miser" or, "Avarù" and marked it to finger because it made knows you died them in order not to pay the taxes and for joined it never did not uncouple a money in order to contribute to the necessities of the parish, indeed, for fear of having to make the elemosina the sagrestano, it had been reduced not to go not even more in church, what that provoked the strict critics of the parish priest and the comments scandalize to you of the fellow countrymen who began more not rivolgergli word and to avoid it, forcing it living alone like a hermit between its riches. The miser was owner of a alpeggio where he carried every year its herd, but the pasture was rather sterile, being covered of large hard sandstones scattered everywhere, much to be similar nearly an immense one pietraia in which they made capolino, here and here, radii grass forelocks. People, that she knew the state not just healthy of that mount, of it spoke often, in terms not sure compassionevoli, nearly to wanting to emphasize the rivincita one of the alpeggio on the taccagneria of its owner. "Chèl that s' ago ' l vé rendì", exclaimed the other mandriani furtively with malcelata satisfaction when they saw to return from the mount the beasts of the miser, tired and reduced to skin and boneses.
With passing of the years, for analogy with the nature of its owner, the cusiesi took to call that alpeggio "the mount miser", miser like its landladies. A summer in which the grass was more insufficient of the usual and the cows they had large difficulty to nourish itself, the mandriano was taken from the desperation and one evening, seated outside from its mountain hut, more disheartened that never mormorò between himself: "You would give my spirit to the Devil if in exchange you could clean up the mountain from all this pietrame". It had not ended to pronounce these words that a strong roar accompanied from an earthquake felt. Close to he a deep crater was opened from which it exited, wrapped in one dense black cloud, the Devil in person, under the sembianze of red caprone, all a hairy one, with corna spiky and the long coiled tail, from the tip to arrow shape. "To your orders - I scream with cavernous voice turned to the miser, impietrito for the astonishment and the fright - they give your spirit to me and I clean up you the mount therefore to do good it to become the pasture beautifulr than all the high one Goes them Brembana". The miser, than until a moment before would have accepted to come down to pacts with the Devil, now, of forehead to the perspective to see realized its dream, was taken from the panic. In the end its spirit, on the point to become goods of exchange for a banal issue of interest, must also have its value if the prince of the darknesses were disposed to sobbarcarsi one hard work therefore improba in order to have it. And then it was remembered that its parish priest, those little times that the occasion had had to feel it, during the putting or the doctrine, always repeated that the spirit is infinitely more precious of the body, is worth very more than all the riches terrene and for committee is immortale: "Who loses the spirit will go to Hell, where she will have to burn for all the eternity!". And now it was quite voluntarily yielding the own spirit to the Devil, in order to increase the wealth terrena... "But the spirit is important, does not want to lose it, does not want to go to burn to Hell..." Its interlocutor, seeing it titubante, chased it: "But va' here, not to give I listen to all the one which says to you.
E' all one excuse invented from the priests in order to natch your moneies and to prevent you to you to enjoy the joys of the life fully ". And stimulating its greed, it added: "E' a transaction not to lose, thinks next to the moneies that you will be able some to gain, it tries to imagine how many years you would want in order to make this job alone us, considers instead that already from this summer you will be able to make to graze your beasts on a land all dissodato and fertile". The man turned itself to observe the immense one pianoro scattered of hard sandstones and all place setting of green grass and flowers imagined to it for a moment, with its herd intenta to graze to the sound of the cowbells. The This vision was so convincing that to the end the miser yielded and accepted the pact with the Devil. But condition placed one: "the job will have to be carried out this night and carried a.termine before that from the bell tower of Cusio the rintocchi reach of Hail Maria of the mattino, otherwise you will not have some right on my spirit". It in fact was convinced that it would have been impossible, does not say to end, but also to only arrive to half of a job therefore improbo, for which, to fine he it would be remained with its spirit and with the mount in part at least cleaned up it was better than nothing. But it had not made the accounts with the astuteness of the Devil that had not specified in how many would have been to carry out this job. Therefore, as soon as the darknesses were descents, the mount Miser was filled up of shadows that poor to the job of good lena and in absolute Hush. Red ones were tens of devils all and hairy, colleagues of what it had made the proposal the miser, from their eyes emanated a diaphanous light that illuminated the night left.

Altro grande paesaggioo!!

Hi Paolo
Very pretty scenery with such an intense green green which is beautiful lit and contrast well against the low, dark clouds. The horses make for an interesting focal point, in keeping with the nature.

Lovely gentle atmosphere with soft light and colours and a great viewpoint.
I'm not sure if it would be even better without the horses - I can't decide if they make a good focal point or are a distraction.
But good work!
Thanks

Ciao Paolo,
non sembra poi così sterile questo monte ;). Bel paesaggio con una atmosfera fosca come la leggenda che ci hai raccontato.
Belli i colori brillanti e i riflessi di luce.

Remember me? :)
Beautiful shot. This reminds me of Iceland. (Except for the trees)
Wonderful, lush colours, beautiful composition. I like the contrast against the bright, green grass and the dark misty mountains and the rather evil clouds.
I can see you are keeping it up!
