Photographer's Note
In the 1967 my father bought an house on the Orobian Alps, in a small village that was composed by not more than 20 villas and some other buildings and had more or less 100 inhabitants.
It was a new winter and summer tourist village built by Milan investors (today the sons of them are my friends from 30 years).
I was born at the beginnings of the December 1969, and i spent my first Xmas vacation in that house with my family.
In the mid 70's that small village was discoverd by other investors and there were built hundreds of villas and condos. Today is a mid level location for winter sports, and a wonderful place with a fantatic wild nature and in the middle of one of the biggest Natural Park of Italy.
I spent there the most part of my winter and summer vacation, with a big group of friends, more or less 100 people, that i still know today.
at the end of the 80's i knew a girl of Milan in that small village, she became my girl-friend, and in the 1998 we went to live together.
In the spring 2000 was time of marriage, and we choose as location Spiazzi, that small village.
After a long battle about civil or religious marriage, i've lost the battle and we choose the only one church of that village.
In the image there is the tower-bell of the San Bartolomeo Church of Boario, buiklt in the XVI Century(Boario is the historical part of Spiazzi, and with an other small village of Valzella, composed all 3 the Boario-Spiazzi "frazione", part of the municipality of Gromo).
In the June 2000 we had our marriage.
In the late June 2004 our child was born, and at the beginnings of July i went in Spiazzi with all my family.
Image took at early morning.

:o) complimenti!!
ciao e buona giornata,
Fabio.

nice place and nice story. the snow looks very nice for skiing, the contrast is very good between the cloudlesssky, the snow and the trees. the tower bell gives the context of the story.

Bonjourno Paolo
A superb alpine vista. The snow accentuates the graphism of the peaks, against the blue sky. I like the flattened perspective from the zoom. Bella photo. Ciao.

Hello Paolo,
I like how the lines of the church tower pierce throught the natural environment,
I think it would have been nice to see a bit more of the church

Ciao Paolo,
I like your interesting compo.
Good idea to include only the bell-tower of the village, it's unusual.
Good colors and contrast as well... and nice story ! ;-)

Incredible narrative. I am always amaze by the history behind every shot… wow… Yours was a life time history….. thanks for sharing that…
The place looks really fantastic, I am glad you can enjoy it now with your own family.
What I like the most about the composition is its simplicity and the few colors that is made of. Very well done, Best wishes, Gabriel

Ciao Paolo, spettacolare composizione, l'inserimento del vecchio campanile è molto azzeccato anche se sarebbe preferibile al sole ma non sempre si può ... complimenti x l'autobiografia! Buon anno!

Hi Paolo,
The beauty of a photo also lies in the feeling that goes with it and we will alway enjoy that nostalgic moment. The contrast and good selection of the view are all very attractive and your inclusion of the bell tower is most appropriate as it showed human activity and existence. Thanks for the wonderful note. Great shot!! All the best to you and your family.

I'm so far behind with my critiques I've missed some of your pics. I'm glad I opened this one. What a beautiful love story; I got goose-bumps. Thank you for sharing your story.
I like the composition here with the tower at the bottom and the layers up to the mountains.
