Photographer’s Note

The pizza is for sure one of the most knowed 'icons' of Italia.
In the last years the trend is to find pizza even in the backery, for sale in little pieces ("pizza al taglio") so you have the possibility to taste more different combinations, cheaperly and without the necessity to sit down in a local.
So, the traditional pizza is becomed even a sort of 'snack' to consume walking od the road.
Here a typical point of sale in the center of Bergamo Alta.

Hmm,
Fast food pizza may not be my no. 1 choice, but the photo is good! Warm colours and composition showing staff and customers. One is just picking his choice. Selection is also well visible here.

bellissima foto, bello il riflesso della pizza nel vetro che sembra prolungare il bancone, belle le persone anonime in attesa e le due commesse pronte a servire, brutto che non sia ora di pranzo e che in ogni caso non potró mangiarmi una pizza cosí!
Qui in Germania la mia italianitá salta fuori il venerdí o Pizzatag, quando preparo la pizza ai piú svariati gusti...ogni tanto capita anche un pezzetto di ananas, ma sai non si riesce ad evitare al 100% l'influsso teutonico!

You make me hungry with so many variety of Pizzas and also I have some difficulty in select one. A different shot from you and a interesting one. Fine perspective and angle approach. Good light, colors and sharpness.

Ho appena fatto fuori una brioches, e adesso ho di nuovo fame.. :o)
che foto divertente Giorgio, mi piace molto l'idea dei clienti senza volto (di fronte alla pizza siamo tutti uguali).. e come l'attenzione è focalizzata sulla mano che sceglie il suo gusto... ottima anche la prospettiva, mi fa sorridere l'idea delle persone che avevi attorno mentre facevi questa foto, chissà cosa pensavano.. certo se tu avessi avuto gli occhi a mandorla o i sandali con i calzini bianchi in perfetto "stile turistico" non ci avrebbero fatto caso...

Wonderful shot Giorgio!
Actually pizza, must be the most known and eaten type of food in the world. The composition is very good and the atmosphere very well captured. Very nice colours and lighting. I love the detail of the pointing finger on the balcony. Weel done!

I like the pizza but to me its background. I think this belongs in Decisve Moments too.. the decisive gesture of the man pointing to the pizza is what intrigues me the most here. Pizza, well its pizza, doesnt have many stories to tell, but you captured an interesting moment with that customer. I like it for this reason.

Bellissima prospettiva pizzaica ! Very Italian and very colorful, and you're right about its iconic status, I can't think of something more italian than the pizza !
The hand with scissors you included on the left is wel thought to illustrate the "Al Taglio" variation, an adaptation to the trend to spend always less time eating, but personally I prefer to sit at a table and take the time to enjoy my pizza, with of course some wide to complement it !

Well, you have my mouth watering...A very well composed shot of this pizza bakery. Your large format motif is ideal for portraying the array of different pizzas, and the eye is led nicely to the baker. Great special features here - the woman holding the scissors and the man pointing with his hand and finger provide a human interest aspect. Quite a unique and successful shot. I really like this one, Giorgio. Well done.

gia' ho fame e poi guradando questa foto mi viene proprio voglia di "gnam gnam". Spero che e' qualcosa di "mangiabile" nel frigo...
Questa e' proprio una bellissima inquadratura (in realta' vedo solo i quadratini di pizza ;)), di squisiti colori e di contrasti di gusti... ormai son partito...

Yup, there's some good stuff there Giorgio. I'd like to pick up a few. I really miss my real margherita pizzas. I sometimes have to make myself one here but haven't for a very long time. I like the line up of pizzas here and the similar line up of bodies on the other side of the glass. Just their hands showing gives us a nice anonymous feel of fast action as the pizza sells. Especially when you have one person pointing at what he wants and another ready with money to buy. It's like a production line and this is good fast food.

Eccellente foto della più classica delle icone del bel paese. Inquadratura originale perché fatta dal lato del pizzaiolo.
Evidentemente, o sei un buon cliente o sei il pizzaiolo ... .
